Appetizers

Appetizers. These little bites served before dinner or during a party. Seen as early as the 1860s, appetizers are meant to both complement the main courses as well as to “take the edge off” a hungry belly. Kind of like an introduction to the meal. In the beginning, appetizers consisted of fruit, vegetables and cured meat. Today’s versions can be simple or complex depending on the purpose for each version. You can find cold and hot items listed here

Amazingly Easy Artichoke Dip – Connie – While the holidays are coming soon, and fall is in the air, you may want to have on hand this quick Amazingly Easy Artichoke Dip Appetizer. Something warm and yummy to offer guests before the meal or a snack lunch on a cool day! This will be a go to, for you and yours, as you will see. Don’t take my word, just try it for yourself!

Appetizers for Entertaining – Two amazing appetizers that serve well when entertaining. Easy to make and on the inexpensive side as well. I’ve linked the recipe for these appetizers on this page.

Bloody Mary Bites – Peter – Everyone has heard of Bloody Marys, right? But Bloody Mary bites? Who would have thought of how to do that? Then combine them with a fine Sauvignon-Blanc. Personally I like this Bloody Mary than the original wet version.

Campfire Cheese Fondue – The ultimate treat has to be gooey fondue by the campfire. It’ll stay melty for a while because of the cast iron Dutch oven, but it’ll cool eventually since it’s not over a flame. Let your imagination run wild with cheese combinations. The rustic appeal of the dish is enhanced by smoky cheeses.

Cheeseball Recipes: – Cheeseball recipes are good anytime of year and for any occassion in my opinion. They are a great addition to any gathering. Thanksgiving, Christmas, any time during football season, baby showers – you name it! They always seem to be a big hit.

Chicken Parm Bites – I have 3 kinds of kids. I have my biological four. I have a step-daughter, although I don’t think of her as a step-daughter, she’s my kid. And I have my ‘dopted kids. These are kids that for one reason or another have come into my life and look to me as their mom. A great honor. The children of all ages would eat their fill when this appetizer was made. Sometimes, they would have vegetables sliced into sticks to eat alongside of this. Great way to get vegetables into them without a lot of coaxing.

Chipotle Cheddar Bratwurst Dip – A recipe to celebrate with your football buddies! This will add a little spice to your chips. Everyone who is enjoying the game, will enjoy it even more with this fast disappearing dip.

Fried Pickles – When I first learned that fried pickles were a thing, I laughed and laughed. The thought of someone eating a fried pickle was beyond my understanding. Now I buy pickle flavored potato chips, and pickle ice cream regularly! Enjoy this recipe! It’s fun and delicious!

Fruity Chicken Salad & Chardonnay – Created by one of my connections this tasty salad is best during the summer season due to the lightness of the fruit which complements the tanginess of the chicken. The adults would pair this with a glass of Chardonnay! Give it a try today!

Mini Bacon Cheese Bites – My late husband and I thoroughly enjoyed camping. We bought a 5th wheel RV and our adventures began. One of the things we looked forward to was meeting all of the campers coming to our little neck of the Uintah Mountains. These were often on the menu for our little “get-togethers”. I hope you enjoy them as much as we did. I made these during the Wine and Dine on Wednesday, July 6, 2022.

Peach and Brie Quesadillas – Along with a Lime-Honey Dipping Sauce may be one of the best recipes that I have found. These are quick, easy and delicious! They look so good that I had to share.
