So, how do you like your steak? If I’ve done my job then after reading this page you will want your steaks nutrient dense! With all the news lately, most all of us know that the groceries we purchase these days are not very healthy for us. The food we buy just doesn’t have the same nutrients as the plants we grow nor the cattle we raise. Oh wait! You don’t live on a farm? Then your choices are limited to what you can get at the corner grocery store. Free roaming beef and grass fed beef has trended quite a bit lately; so what better time to tell you about this truly delicious and nutrient dense beef?

Free Roaming Beef

Many studies have been conducted and they pretty much all tell us that Free Roaming beef creates much healthier beef for us to consume. When our livestock eat what they are supposed to be eating such as grass and even weeds, they get the benefit of the nutrients they are consuming. Just like the bison (buffalo) did in our history.

Cattle and bison are natural grazing animals. Currently a majority of our cattle are caged and fed grain. Not grass and weeds. It’s a dangerous circle. The good things in the soil go to the flora. The flora then gives it’s nutrients to the livestock. Then the livestock pays the flora back with a natural fertilizer. It’s only when we, as humans, interfere with the natural selection when things get so messed up.

Grass Fed Beef

Grass fed or free roaming are terms that are pretty interchangeable. Some ranchers like to claim their cattle are grass fed, but it isn’t necessarily true 100% of the time. Animals such as cows, sheep, and goats (also called ruminants) are not supposed to eat grains. It’s just not how they were designed. I’m talking about seeded out grains. I’m the type of person who if you tell me it’s grass-fed then I expect it to be 100% grass-fed. Therefore when I refer to grass fed beef or free roaming beef, I am referring to 100% grass fed beef.

When feeding livestock grain, it can cause them to have a digestive issue such as acidosis. Most livestock will cause an upset in the Omega nutrients. As we all know, livestock are given hormones and antibiotics to keep them as illness free as possible and the other by-product is an increase in weight. Guess we are getting an understanding why some of our food is unhealthy. Another well known fact is the big beef establishments, the bottom line is the money. Not what’s good for us or the livestock or even us. Money talks.

Don’t Let The Labels Fool You

This one is kind of interesting. This is a practice that can be seen in every single industry around the world.! Whatever the product is, give it a glorified name! Package in a pleasing package, you get the picture. People eat this up! Literally in some cases such as beef. Think about Angus beef. You know you love the taste of Angus beef. I’m not saying it’s not the best when compared to regular beef. Just because it’s called Angus, doesn’t mean anything at all. The definition is listed below:

Angus Beef: “Angus” merely refers to beef that comes from the Aberdeen Angus cow. Originally from Scotland, it’s a sturdier breed that grew popular among farmers thanks to its ability to produce meat with a higher marbling content (a.k.a., those white lines of fat that make your meat taste so good.)

Therefore the term Angus could very well be another way to charge a higher price for beef that is quite ordinary, yet, in limited supply.

What Beef Should Taste Like

All of this begs the question, Do you know what beef SHOULD taste like? Most likely not. Unless you are from a farm or sending your beef to the market to be cut up fresh for you. We are teaming up with a Rancher in Big Horn Mountain Wyoming to bring You the best beef you have ever put in your mouth.

They are Ranchers that are true stewards of the land. This means No Harm to the land and its soil. Therefore, they focus 100% on raising and sourcing beef for the future of the soil. They are setting the bar for defining high-quality nutrient-dense beef. This is why they keep an emphasis on Regenerative and Restorative management and practices. They are producing beef that has been verified as some of the most nutrient-dense beef in the country.

Gimmicks?

Beware of gimmick labels on meat to make you think it’s high-quality. It’s true that high-quality meat costs more. Have you ever wondered why there are so many diseases today? In the past few decades, cancer, heart disease, and diabetes have all risen. What’s the value of your health and your family’s health? Choosing healthiest foods is more important than eating the best. If you don’t care about your health or the health of your family, this isn’t for you.

I don’t know how you are feeling, but I’m hungry now! I’m thinking about that amazing steak that was just delivered to my door. It’s sitting in the fridge. We’re going to have it for dinner tonight along with the required baked potato and some of the last corn on the cob we have. I’m trying to decide which wine to pair this steak with. Usually I would go for a nice bottle of Ricord Merlot. I could pair it with a Nile Eddy Pinot Noir. Either will be amazing! Best in Show! Sorry Nile. That Merlot won out! These hit my door step today as well. Best Beef, Best Wine Club, Delivered to my front porch.
