Christmas Pannycakes are another way to celebrate Christmas mornings. My oldest couldn’t say pancakes for the longest time, but could say pannycakes. A new tradition was born. Using your favorite pannycake recipe, this becomes oh so easy to do. If you want to take breakfast to the next level, rely on your talent and utilizing the pancake batter make the forms of Snowmen, Santa, etc. It’s all in fun!
Ingredients
Your favorite pannycake recipe. I use Bisquick or Krusteaz. Either work well with this suggestion.
Bacon or Sausage Links – Follow the directions on the box.
Syrup and other toppings such as fresh fruit and sprinkles. Cold Yogurt, Whipped Cream or Ice Cream make the breakfast special.
Directions
- Follow the directions for your favorite pancake recipe.
- If you are going to draw pancakes on your own separate the pancake batter into separate bowls or squeeze bottles to aid in the design.
- Portion the batter into the squeeze bottles, add food coloring. Cook until one side has all the bubbles popped. Flip and cook on other side. Shouldn’t take more than a minute.
- If you are going the way of a mold, follow the directions for the use of the mold.
- Make a number of different pancakes before calling everyone to the table for breakfast.
- Serve your Christmas Pannycakes with Softened Butter, Syrup and Other Toppings such as Strawberry Jam or Blackberry preserves. Add bacon or sausage on the side of the plate to complete the breakfast.
