Dream Even Bigger is the latest challenge from our co-founders, Rory and Tanya Ricord. Each year, they challenge us to complete a new Dream Bigger page which helps to remain properly invested into our businesses. So, previous goals have included buying my family the world, reading more books, working a more solid calendar. I listen to motivational You Tube videos to learn more about how to keep myself motivated. There is a wealth of motivational videos there that can help you as well.
So for this version of my dream, the plan is to incorporate 3 questions I discovered on a YouTube video. It got me to thinking that maybe just putting into words what I thought I wanted at the moment wasn’t enough or even really what the reasoning behind having a dream. Dreaming in the first drafts are more along financial goals with what you can give to make someone’s life better. We often forget to include what would make our own lives better. Therefore, here are my answers to these questions.
Question One: Who am I?
Well, the easiest way to answer that is with biographical data. However, I don’t think that kind of data will truly answer the spirit of the question. So who am I? Widow. 66 years old. Oldest of 12 kids. Been tending and raising babies since I was 3. I have a wicked sense of humor but still down to earth. I kind of feel sorry for my late sister, Donna. She was my little “baby doll” when mom and dad both had to work. She was my guinea pig. Those experiences helped me with my 5 kids, 15 grandkids, and 30 great grandkids by the end of 2023. I live in my RV 24/7 by choice for the freedom to move whenever I feel like it.
I believe I have a good work ethic. If I say I’m going to show up 99.9{fed172da7923ef2b144b345ce1dfbe4f34a361fdeac8d420a8ac05bf45235d10} of the time I show up. I do my best to help wherever I can. I study hard…and I’m not afraid to ask the “dumb” questions nor to answer them either.
Question Two: What is my purpose?
This one feels a little easier to answer. However, based on many hours of thought, this is what I came up with. My purpose is to complete whatever the Good Lord tells me to complete with the time I have left on this earth. So currently I’m working on sharing the amazing benefits that being a part of RRR247 affords to me. My goal for 2023 is to share RRR247 with 300 families. I want to help more in 2024. As a result, I should develop a way to track the 500 people I share with.
I want to be able to leave certain things to my kids and their kids and their kids. Yes, in the “Basic Needs with a little bit of fun” arena. I’d love to leave each family $5,000. Part of that would be given to each grandkid/great grandkid to purchase one thing that they want. Not a huge amount. Maybe $100 for the grandkids and $50 for the great grands.
I’d like to help my oldest with a grant to remodel the rest of her home. Next young’un, I’d like to grant her a vacation for just her and hubby. Someplace that is a little more exotic than Las Vegas. Perhaps a dude ranch in Montana. She’s always loved horses.
My oldest son I would like to grant him enough to start his own rescue group here in New Mexico. His love for animals is evident the minute you walk through the door of our RV with the cats and dogs. I’d like to get him set up so he could expand as needed.
My baby boy (He’s 43) I’d like to grant him a special account that would allow him to play on his “$5 casino breakfast” game site. He really likes that site and has actually won cold, hard, cash. It’s his fun money.
On to the youngest. I would like to grant her enough to take her whole family on a vacation. Nothing hugely fancy. Maybe a trip to the beach. I think the little ones would like that.
For the family as a whole, I would like to start an account that would help with college costs or down payment on a house. Because I know my family so well, I would set this up with someone who is not family to monitor and disperse the funds.
Now I understand that none of that deals with what is my purpose. So I would say that my purpose is to create as much happiness, time and financial freedom for everyone and anyone can enjoy the same things I have during my life.
Question Three: What is success?
To me, Success is in the eye of the beholder. Thus, success can mean many things like completion of a goal. Beginning of a new project. Even learning a new skill. It is the favorable completion of a task that you set for yourself. For me, I am looking for time and financial freedom. This gives me the opportunity to give the gifts I would like to give to my family. With both time and financial freedom, I have so much more. It truly isn’t just related to money. Although I must admit, that having money makes it a ton easier to accomplish. I believe we are all hard-wired to think that having lots of money is the be-all end-all. So with a change of mindset, a whole new world opens up.
On the dream side, the ability to jump on a plane fly to another city, rent a car, pick up great grands and their parents and hit the mall for an ice cream cone and a small shopping spree. Thus, creating memories that last forever. Help with education needs on a college level for any of them that wish to do that. Help with an investment into a business idea.
So this has been a very interesting experiment for me. The three questions sounds pretty easy to answer, until you really think about it. I think I am going to make July each year the dream bigger bigger month to visit my dream bigger pages and see how my world changes.
