Dream Bigger

As a marketer, my colleagues and I have been challenged to “dream bigger”. We also were admonished to ensure that these dreams were not solely focused on others but to include dreams for ourselves on purpose. I still want to create a trust fund that will help my family to become educated. Since I was not in a position to get the education I desired, I want to help make this dream come true for my family. I’d also like this trust fund to help with other projects, if the requester has achieved their educational/employment goals. Life events such as a small grant for their wedding, another small grant for a down payment on a home, heck even to help pay for a car.

Dream Bigger really has me thinking. So I started writing down the dreams I have. When I reviewed the list, it was still for others. I really had a problem focusing solely on myself. A gift my parents gave me to ensure that my 11 brothers and sisters would always have someone they could turn to. I KNOW taking care of family is important so I’ll add those first. I still am unable to put myself on the list first.

Dream bigger for family

For one Christmas I would like to gift each of my 5 children $1,000. The rule would be that they could only use the money for a family event. Could be a day trip to the local amusement park, perhaps even a family outing to a concert. As long as it was used for a family event, I’m happy.

Perhaps during the same time frame, I would like to gift each family with $100 per child to augment their Christmas presents. The kids would know that the gifts came from Nana/Grandma. I want them to know who I am and it would help in my mind to attempt an apology for missing so many years of gift-giving. It’s a small amount (not really, counting just grandchildren and great-grandchildren the total is 33 as of today. They are still growing! $3,300) Would still make me feel better.

The creation of a trust fund for emergencies; car breaking down, refrigerator conked out, A place to come when other options have been attempted without success.

I’d like to pay off the mortgage on my middle daughter’s home. For my oldest daughter, I’d like to either provide a down-payment for a new house or provide the funds for a new mobile home. Whichever SHE would like. For my youngest daughter, I’d like to help with perhaps paying a years mortgage payment.

For my oldest son, I’d like to get a decent sized parcel of land for a new RV including all power sources set up and a well dug as well as a place where he can have as many animals as he would like. I see him having a rescue area for the strays and broken animals he loves so much.

My youngest son would get an amount of money that would allow him to fulfill one of his dreams. I used to know what it was he wanted. I don’t anymore. So I want to spend time with him to get to know him intimately as a mother should.

These trust funds set up with a way for the fund to self-fund via interest. Run by someone who is NOT family. An application process developed to determine exactly what the funds are going to be used from and an annual audit if needed to ensure funds are used for purpose stated.

Consistent donations for diabetes research, food banks, child abuse prevention, education scholarships.

Dream bigger for ME!

This is a hard one simply because of my age. I hope to have 10-20 years left in this tired old body.

I would like to hire someone to help me health-wise. I’d like to lose weight. (Already working for this goal). I’d like to look younger. (Uuth here I come). All around physical shape and appearance to make it easier for me to move. I miss hiking in the woods, miss dancing, miss being able to walk a grocery store without a cart.

Dream bigger – Lifestyle

I’d like to buy a house. Not a huge one. Perhaps 3 bedrooms. One bedroom for me and one for my oldest son. One bedroom for an office. I really like the open concept so that’s the general idea for the place. Little to NO snow. The house should have a huge yard for the animals I would have. I’d like to develop a rescue area for the cats and dogs my son falls in love with. He has a huge heart.

I’d like to have an RV for those times that we both need to get away for a bit. Allows for easier visits to family in other states. A Class A that has 2 bedrooms and a smaller office space. Custom built so that everything we would want to have when on the road is there. One requirement is a fireplace. This gives this motor home a feel of already being home. A desire would be a walk-in tub as well as a shower. This would allow me to soak in the great outdoors even though I’m inside. That tub definitely would require a custom build.

I’d like to shop for clothes someplace other than a thrift store or Walmart. I have discovered that I like looking at designer dresses. There is a place to wear one now. I would love to not worry about how much the dress would cost or how many years I would need to save for one (with the knowledge that it would never happen since something else would come up more important) I want to look respectable when I go business related functions. I’ve found a dress that I would aspire too. It’s at Saks and over $5k. I doubt I will ever buy it, but the ability is a dream.

I want to learn how to do my makeup. Strange dream. I never learned how growing up. YouTube videos and try them are some places to learn more. I still suck at doing makeup. I really want to learn how.

The dreams all surround the lack of money in my life and to make up to my children this lack in their life. I can wish I’d been ready to start my own business, but it doesn’t change the fact. These dreams will now become my goals in life. I deserve to have some abundance in my life. I’ve earned it.

Dream Bigger – Business

I am increasing the number of students I have helped to success in reaching their dreams. The aim is to help 10,000 families reach their time and financial freedom goals. Doing this will also increase the ability for me to reach my dreams.

Dreaming Bigger has brought to mind exactly why I am a marketer. The goals are more specific and include the honor of showing what we have here to others. I’ve held jobs of course for a couple of decades now. However, I’ve not felt like I truly made an impact on my world. By helping others…by paying it forward has given me a new direction that is more focused. While the focus is still on others, now I’m included as well.
