Homemade Dog Food

Makes about 8 servings. Larger dogs put 1 cup into ZipLoc bag and store in refrigerator. Smaller dog use about 1/2 cup into ZipLoc bag. Toy breeds, put 1/4 cup into ZipLoc bag .

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups brown rice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 pounds ground turkey
  • 3 cups baby spinach, chopped
  • 2 carrots, shredded
  • 1 zucchini, shredded
  • 1/2 cup peas, canned or frozen

Directions

  1. Put rice in a large pot with 3 cups water and cook according to package direction
  2. On medium heat, heat olive oil in a large stockpot or Dutch oven. Crumble the turkey as it cooks, and add more ground turkey if needed.
  3. Stir in spinach, carrots, zucchini, peas, and brown rice until spinach wilts and mixture is hot. Approximately 3 to 5 minutes.
  4. Make sure it cools completely.
  5. Feed your homemade dog food creation and enjoy his dinner.
